News Archive: Taiwan’s stainless steel market stable before Chinese New Year

Taiwan’s stainless steel market stable before Chinese New Year
Even the nickel prices at LME went down slightly after exceeding US$26,000/ton, the average nickel prices have still remained at over US$25,500/ton.

Besides, Taiyuan Iron & Steel Group (Tisco) and Posco have announced to increase the stainless steel prices for February delivery.

Affected by these factors, it’s predicted that the Taiwan’s stainless steel mills such as Yieh United Steel Corp.(Yusco) and Tang Eng would probably hike the prices by NT$3,000/ton.

However, by the coming of Chinese New Year holiday, the purchase may slow down; thus, the market situation may be clearer after the holiday. Accordingly, Taiwan’s stainless steel market may stay stable before the Chinese New Year.
